This
is the last full week before Christmas. The house is decorated, presents are
bought so this week is dedicated to wrapping presents and the baked goods. I
give away many baked goods to friends, families, mailmen, garbage men, all the ladies
that make me beautiful… or at least acceptable, and everyone who helps me run
my life smoother. There is a guy at Office Depot who helps me and he is getting
a treat.
Now
baked goods may seem like no big deal but lately, less and less people are
baking and homemade treats are special. The recipient has to know how much you
appreciate their efforts. I fill a basket and as I make my rounds, gifts are
given.
So
this week, I am combining all the cookie dough and freezing, making
marshmallows, sugar pecans, chex mix and puppy chow. My kitchen is like Santa’s
workshop this week. All covered in confectionary sugar and flour…. Not really. I
will package the treats as they are made so I can deliver them.
This
week’s menu is all about baking… and easy meals that I can make while covered
in sugar.
