Christmas Menu

With Christmas a little more than two weeks away, it is time to set the Christmas Eve Party Menu and the Christmas dinner menu.

The beauty of a Christmas Eve party is that church starts at 11 o'clock pm and the guests are sushed out of the house at 10:30. I love the fun special feeling that we have, the anticipation of Christmas, the beauty of the evening and the birth of our Savior. Friends stop by to bring and receive gifts. Carols are sung and everyone is dressed to the nines!!! Babies are kissed, kids are excited and we have the best time.

Christmas Eve Party Menu

Shrimp Cocktail
Spinach Artichoke Dip
Beef Empanadas
Spicy Pecans
Brie En Croute and Crackers
Cheese Straws
Coconut Cupcakes
Fruit Platter

Most people repeat the Thanksgiving menu for Christmas but here, we love a formal Christmas dinner with an English twist. Everyone can stay in their PJ's on Christmas but with Christmas falling on Sunday, we will have to decide if they want to attend. I am in favor but will defer to the majority.

Christmas Dinner

Standing Beef Rib Roast
Yorkshire Pudding
Scalloped Potatoes
Sautéed Green Beans
Green Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette

Blackberry Cobbler
Christmas Cookies

I know this sounds like a difficult menu but with a little prep work, the dinner comes together relatively easy. The best part of this dinner is there is enough food for anyone we might meet that needs a family to spend the holiday with.... and we always love extra guests. What are you making for dinner?

  1. We are having our family Christmas on Christmas Eve this year so our family can have time with their other families on Christmas Day...we are doing Chili and soups for our get together...simple so we can spend more time with the babies...less time with the food...

Comments are such a treasure. Please share your thoughts, I would love your feedback.
